  1. Announcing UKNewt - The Independent Association for UK Newton Owners

  3. UKNewt has been formed due to a feeling amongst a number of UK Newton owners
  4. that we needed an independent voice aside from Apple's official Assist User
  5. Group. Quite often it seems that we in the UK lack well behind our Stateside and
  6. German counterparts in obtaining new Newton technology.
  7.  
  8. It was also felt that there was a lack of information in the UK for Newton
  9. owners especially those without any form of information service access. This has
  10. become more significant with the recent increase in Newton ownership due to the
  11. sell-off of original MessagePads at very low prices.
  12.  
  13. To this end UKNewt will be producing a regular printed Newsletter outlining all
  14. that is happening in the Newton world and specifically its impact on the UK. We
  15. hope that this Newsletter will appeal to all types of Newton Owner from the
  16. Novice to the Experienced user.

  18. In the first issue: Marco Revealed, Stop Press:MP120 in the UK, Managing Heap
  19. Space,  Howard Oakley's Column (Are we all Apple's Beta Testers?), Handwriting
  20. Recognition for beginners, Managing Heap space and much more.
  21. (N.B. the Mailing Services in the UK article previously mentioned has been
  22. postponed to next issue due to the need to incorporate new developments)
  23. Subscriptions to UKNewt in the UK will be 20 pounds sterling per year. The
  24. Newsletter will initially be published quarterly but we hope to increase the
  25. number of issues as the membership increases.
